Gagosian

555 West 24th Street, New York

through April 27

As Gagosian’s inaugural exhibition of Francesca Woodman comes to a close on April 27th, this week is the last chance to see the exhibition. Of this group of more than fifty lifetime prints, many of which has not been previously exhibited, Jackson Arn writes in his review on The New Yorker, “Nobody photographed young women the way that Francesca Woodman did. The suppler she made their flesh look, the more ancient the aura.”

This exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue featuring an essay from classics scholar Brooke Holmes. To learn more about the exhibition and to preorder the catalogue, please tap on these links.

Many thanks to the team at Gagosian for their dedicated commitment to Woodman’s work and for honoring her legacy with this ambitious exhibition; Brooke Holmes for bringing new frameworks to Woodman’s practice; journalists and critics who offered new insights into reading Woodman’s photographs including Arthur Lubow, Ted Loos and Katie White; friends and supporters who contributed to the exhibition’s success; and Francesca Woodman herself for her extraordinary vision and enduring impact.
