It’s your last chance to see Portraits to Dream In, beautifully installed to recall the period from cool, blue dusk to warm, rosy dawn and reflect what curator Magdalene Keaney describes as “the dream space” shared by both Woodman's and Cameron’s photographs.

In writing about their “starting premises” in the exhibition catalogue, photography curator, historian and writer Helen Ennis articulates how each artist’s process revealed curiosity and imagination about what a photograph could do and be:

“The purpose in underscoring these different phases in Cameron’s and Woodman’s practices is not simply to highlight correspondences in their approaches. It is also to argue for a generous view of fabricated or staged photography—often termed ‘directorial photography’—as a multifaceted endeavor that synthesises the imagination, intellect, material investigation and various practical skills. What went on behind each woman’s camera gave rise to what eventually occurred in front of it.”
